CISF holds career mela for its wards

NEW DELHI: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Sunday organized a 'career mela' for children of its officers and jawans to help them choose their careers wisely and in accordance with their aptitude.

The event was held at CISF camp in Saket where career guidance to students of class IX to XII was given by experts from Expression India. About 600 CISF wards along with their parents from different CISF units located in Delhi and NCR region took part in the event organized under the aegis of CISF Wives Welfare Association "Sanrakshika".


"The objective of organizing 'Career Mela' for children of CISF family was to enable them to decide and choose their career carefully and wisely as per their aptitude, ability and qualification," said a senior CISF officer.


Dr. Jitendra Nagpal and his team of counsellors from Expression India conducted a thorough counselling of children by explaining various career opportunities in different branches and fields. A "Compendium of Guidelines" reflecting various career opportunities was also released, a CISF press release said.


CISF DG Arvind Ranjan emphasised that children are the future of the country and every effort to give them love, support and guidance should be made to help them realize their dreams.


Sanrakshika president Shubha Ranjan said that she was sure that the career mela would enable the children to reach on a decision about what they want to do in life. "This kind of welfare activity would also be organized in others CISF sectors across the country.


Sanrakshika through its executive body and members would be available to help the CISF family members and children at all times," Shubha Ranjan said.


She also released the official logo of "Sanrakshika" on the occasion.


She said that the new name of CISF Wives Welfare Association "Sanrakshika" had been derived from CISF Motto "Protection & Security". She further elaborated that the logo of "Sanrakshika" denotes the symbol of protection and care, the three women in the logo indicate power, freedom and unity.
